Letsip is a straw mouthpiece that passives the rigid movements of the tongue and has a tongue stopper which is now patented.
With the help of the straw, the child can go from sucking on the straw to sucking in the right way. For the smallest children, threads have been made on the nozzle, so that it fits directly on the smoothie bags from the store.
The straw mouthpiece is placed between the lips and teeth. It should never go in or between the teeth. It is made so that it is good to grip around with the lips and that the pin should usually stick down directly behind the lower lip and in front of the teeth. The pin should passivate the tongue so that it breaks with the previously rigid patting. The aim is for the tongue to start pulling backwards in the mouth when the child drinks. The child then gets to train the tongue muscles to pull the tongue backwards. The rigid pattern that the tongue has settled on changes, the tongue often becomes more inside the mouth. With children who have managed to drink in this way, we see that the tongue is more inside the mouth throughout large parts of the day (can be combined with the Letsip S series to practice closing the mouth).
Sometimes the pointed pin can also stick up, then to stimulate the upper lip to become more active.
The mouthpiece should never be used to push the tongue in, but passivate the tongue.
NB! The consistency is important, so that the drink does not end up in the airways and the children will have an aversion to the new thing in their mouths.
Once a new drinking pattern has been established, you can gradually move towards a thinner consistency. Caution and patience are important, do not push the drink to the child, but rather tempt the child so that he wants to get more from the mouthpiece. Some children can quite quickly go from a feeding bottle via "Letsip" to a cup or regular straw. Others must have this as maintenance and training to maintain good suction technique and not slip back into old patterns.
Use of the straw should not replace normal drinking at the start, it is only offered to the child to give him something extra good. If the child does everything to get hold of the drink/smoothie, it is easier to reverse the drinking pattern.
Tips:
A common trick is to hold a finger in front of the lower lip and press the lower lip against the tongue stopper. Then there will be no room for the tongue.
If the child does not want to drink in this way, the experiment must be ended and tried again later.
Children are very different, and if they don't want to, Letsip must be put away for a period and tried later when they cooperate better. The age between 1 and 3 years can be a challenging period, with individual opinions that cannot always be negotiated.
To check whether he likes the drink, the child must always taste it with a spoon first.
The rule of "only one change at a time" applies here, either the taste or consistency is changed.
If one makes a mistake at the start, the child can associate the Letsip mouthpiece with something they have learned did not taste good, or that they coughed at the consistency. Then it can be difficult to try again.
It is not recommended to start with liquid drinks, because the child does not have a good enough technique to swallow in the new way. Patience is the way to success.
Several children have tried the new straw, which is suitable from 7-9 months of age, but the mouthpiece proves to be suitable for people of all ages, and works just as well for children as for young people.

Cleaning disinfection/maintenance:
The bottle is washed by hand
If the bottle is damaged, they can be replaced with an ordinary water bottle with corresponding threads.
The mouthpieces themselves can withstand boiling, and can be steamed and washed in the dishwasher.
If the suction pipe is to be replaced, the hoses from TESS will fit
